彭士禄，中国核动力事业的主要开拓者和奠基人、中国核潜艇第一任总设计师、中国著名核动力专家、中国工程院院士。1925年11月生于广东海丰，2021年3月22日在京逝世，享年96岁。

Peng Shilu is a pioneer and founder of China's nuclear power field, the first chief designer of China's nuclear submarine, a well-known Chinese nuclear power expert, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Peng was born in Haifeng, Guangdong province in November 1925 and passed away in Beijing on March 22, 2021 at the age of 96.

他是革命烈士彭湃之子。他主持设计建造了我国第一座核潜艇陆上模式堆、成功研制第一艘核潜艇、组织引进第一座百万千瓦级核电站、指挥自主设计建造第一座大型商用核电站，为我国核潜艇实现从无到有的历史性突破、第一座核电站技术路线确定作出了突出贡献。

Peng was the son of the revolutionary martyr Peng Pai. He presided over design and built China's first nuclear submarine land-based experimental reactor, successfully developed the first nuclear submarine. Peng was responsible for the introduction and construction of the first million-kilowatt nuclear power plant, Peng also led the team to design and build the first large-scale commercial nuclear power plant. Peng made outstanding contributions to the historic breakthrough of China's first nuclear submarine and the establishment of the first nuclear power plant.

在隐姓埋名的那段时间，他带领团队在四川的崇山峻岭间，克服重重困难，铸就了共和国的“水下钢铁长城”。

Peng led his team in the mountains of Sichuan to overcome numerous difficulties and build the Republic's " Great Wall of steel Underwater".

1965年中央专委批准正式研制核潜艇，并选择地处四川的一片山区作为建造核潜艇陆上模式堆的厂址，科技人才从祖国四面八方汇聚到四川西南部大山深处。彭士禄也是其中的一员。

In 1965, Peng Shilu was assigned to take part in the development reactor of nuclear submarines, coming to a mountainous area in Sichuan as the site of the construction of nuclear submarine land-based experimental reactor. Scientific and technological talents from all sides of the motherland gathered in the depths of the mountains in southwest Sichuan. Peng was one of them.

在基地里，彭士禄和同事们在没有技术资料、没有援助专家、生活条件艰苦的情况下，开始了为“巨龙”铸“芯”，为大国造“盾”。他们造出了中国第一座潜用核动力装置陆上模式堆！

In the base, Peng Shilu and his colleagues began the design and construction of the development reactor for our country without technical information and assistance experts. They Succeeded in building China's first nuclear submarine land-based prototype reactor!

1970年12月26日，我国第一艘核潜艇下水。1974年8月1日，名为“长征一号”的中国第一艘核潜艇正式列入海军战斗序列。至此，中国正式成为继美、苏、英、法之后，第五个拥有核潜艇的国家。

On December 26, 1970, China launched its first nuclear submarine. On August 1, 1974, China's first nuclear submarine was officially commissioned into the navy. At this point, China officially became the fifth country with nuclear submarines after the United States, the Soviet Union, Britain and France.

核潜艇建造成功之后，彭士禄又开始建造核电厂。早在上世纪70年代，彭士禄就曾提交过秦山核电站的设计方案。改革开放后，中国启动广东大亚湾核电站项目，彭士禄被任命为筹建总指挥，后成为大亚湾核电站首任董事长兼总经理，再后又担任秦山核电站二期董事长。

Following the success of nuclear submarines, Peng began building nuclear power plants. Peng submitted a design for the Qinshan nuclear power plant in the 1970s. After Economic Reform and open up, China launched Guangdong Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant project. Peng Shilu was appointed as the chief director of the preparation, and later became the first chairman and general manager of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant. Then he served as the chairman of Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant Phase II.

在荣誉面前，彭士禄从不计较得失，也从不提个人要求。

He never cared about gains and losses, and never made personal demands.

1978年，当得知自己被授予国家科学技术进步奖特等奖时，他正在工地上忙碌，根本不知自己是获奖者。因为他总认为， “我充其量就是核潜艇上的一枚螺丝钉。”

In 1978, when he learned that he was awarded the Special class of the National S&T Progress Awards, he was in busy working. He always said, "I'm just a screw on a nuclear submarine."

国内外很多人称赞他是“中国核潜艇之父”“中国核电站创建人”，对此，彭士禄坚决反对。“我这一辈子只做了两件事，一是造核潜艇，二是建核电站。我不是什么‘之父’，只是核动力领域的一头拓荒牛。”

Many people at home and abroad praise him as "the father of China's nuclear submarine" and "the founder of China's nuclear power plant", to which Peng Shilu firmly disagreed. "I have only done two things in my life. One is to build nuclear submarines and the other is to build nuclear power plants. I'm not the father of anything, just a pioneer in nuclear power."
