"I found it, my red lover. It grows among the bushes, as if asking me to verify its identity." More than a hundred years ago, British botanist Ernest Henry Wilson wrote this passage in his book "China, The Mother of Gardens", describing a rare plant unique to China,Meconopsis punicea.
Meconopsis puniceais a species under the genus Meconopsis of the poppy family, which is endemic to China. It is mainly distributed in high-altitude areas such as northwestern Sichuan, northeastern Tibet, southeastern Qinghai and southwestern Gansu.
Sadly, it only blooms once in its life. When you see a gorgeous flower, its life is coming to an end. It will wither soon after it bears fruit. The seeds are scattered in the fields, waiting for the next bloom. This process takes six years. It is so magnificent and calm.
