On the banks of the YingjingRiver, Sichuan, a lot of "white doves" are about to "wake up". Spring is the time when Davidia involucrata blooms. Each flower usually has two large white bracts, dotted with a purple heart in the middle. It looks like a dove resting on the tree from afar, so it is also called "dove flower". The tree is also called dove tree.

Thedove tree is an ancient plant that survived the Quaternary glacial period and is known as the "living fossil of plants" and "green panda". It is also a rare plant unique to China and one of the top ten ornamental trees in the world.

Regarding the dove tree, there is a story. Wang Zhaojun, for the reconciliation of Han Dynasty and the Xiongnu, married Huhanye, a Chanyu (cheif) of the Xiongnu. She missed her hometown day and night in a foreign land, so she let a white dove deliver letters for her. The dove pierced the clouds and mist, and kept flying to Zigui, Hubei Province, the hometown of Wang Zhaojun. The dove died of exhaustion due to fatigue. It finally turned into white flowers and became the dove tree.
