Panzhihua Counterpart helps Muli County, boosting local residents' income and employment

On November 15, Liangshan Prefecture, Muli County, agricultural industry demonstration garden, a piece of clear golden chrysanthemum in bloom. A person in charge of the demonstration garden greets visitors to the garden with a taste of tea.
This is the 11th year that Panzhihua has supported Muli County. In September this year, Panzhihua's plan to help Muli Tibetan Autonomous County (2021-2025) was released. In the next 5 years, Panzhihua plans to invest 165 million yuan in counterpart support and implement 60 projects. Panzhihua will continue to strengthen its support to Muli County in the areas of industry, education, and healthcare, allowing closer support and collaboration between Panzhihua and Muli County.
Golden chrysanthemum drives regional industry development
The Muli County agricultural industry demonstration garden covers an area of 100 acres and is located in Bojiluo Village, Qiaowa Town, a 20-minute drive from Muli County.
In order to increase the income of local farmers, Muli County has developed the small chrysanthemum into a big industry.
"Golden chrysanthemum not only has medicinal edible value, but also ornamental value." Panzhihua City, the sixth batch of working group leader Gao Shenghong said, since the construction of the garden, solved the employment problem of more than 220 people in the village of Bojiluo, "last year planted 100 acres of golden chrysanthemum production of dried flowers 900 kg, the production value of more than 540,000 yuan. Farmers nearby have developed tourism and sightseeing industries such as catering and accommodation, and their income has increased as a result."
In the next step, Panzhihua will compensate for disadvantages, continue to integrate various advantageous resources and promote famers’ income.
Teaching employment skills
Staff from Panzhihua Employment Promotion Centre led 16 teachers from Panzhihua College of Technology to conduct a 10-day vocational skills training in Muli County.
From 2019, Panzhihua has invested a total of 1.5 million yuan in the training entrepreneurial awareness, electrician skills and welder skills. "After learning welder skills, they are able to go out to work and get priority hiring when there are jobs in the township and village!" Longmu Zeren, a villager from Yanli Country.
In addition to technical support, providing employment opportunities is important. On October 18, Muli County National Square held a job fair, not only to solve the employment problem in Muli County, but also to attract more talents into Panzhihua.
