On November 6th, China’s Esports Team EDward Game (EDG) beat DWG KIA of South Korea 3-2 during Reykjavik’s 2021 League of Legends World Championship finals.

EDG Meiko also became the first grand slam player to win all the international and domestic tournaments he attended, including the LPL Spring and Summer, MSI, All-Star, Rift Rivals, Asian Games, and World 2021.

It was the third time that the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) won the S11 game since its previous championship two years ago.

EDG struck first blood right during game one when EDG Flandre held a safe lead, convincingly taking the game. During game two, DWG KIA turned on the jets, and after taking the Mountain Dragon, they soon took the game. EDG remained calm and held on to the pressure in the fourth game, a match point when EDG struck back, and the score came to 2-2.

During the tense final game, EDG finally took it all and won the championship of Worlds 2021.

Then EDG’s winning and the game S11 became the hot topic until 00:15 on November 7; in particular, the hashtag #EDGchampionship has ranked the top in trending.

    What is S11:

League of Legends Season 11 is the world’s well-known Esports game, also called the S Game. It started in 2011, and this year marks Season 11. Each year, players from all over the world will attend the game, and only the teams with high rankings have the chance to the finals.

    Who are EDG:

    “Unstoppable”:

It’s the best word to describe EDG’s championship and the hardship they went through—they were unstoppable, going beyond their limits and smashing through all the difficulties. In the end, they were the winner of all.
