    A 6.0-magnitude earthquake jolted Luxian County, Luzhou City of southwest China's Sichuan Province at 4:33 a.m. on Thursday. Two people were killed and sixty others injured, according to local government. Rescue work is underway.

    Two people were killed and sixty others injured after a 6.0-magnitude earthquake jolted Luxian County in Luzhou City, southwest China's Sichuan Province at 4:33 a.m. on Thursday (Beijing Time), local authorities said.

    The quake struck at a depth of 10 km and its epicenter was monitored at 29.2 degrees north latitude and 105.34 degrees east longitude, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

    Luzhou City has launched a level one emergency response, the highest in China's four-tier system, and deployed disaster investigation and rescue officers. Provincial authorities have initiated a level two response.
