Ethnic Music Week started in Liangshan Prefecture

On the evening of December 19, the second Ethnic Music Week opened in Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

This year's Ethnic Music Week, including ethnic music ceremony and the opening ceremony, buckwheat concert, starlight concert, symphony concert, New Year's Eve concert, etc.. The activities will continue until December 31,lasting 13 days.

Sichuan is a multi-ethnic province where multi-cultural coexist and prosper, providing inspiration for music creation. Liangshan Prefecture is a place of ethnic and cultural communion, where ethnic culture and art flourish. “We hope to take the opportunity of holding the Ethnic Music Week to explore new types of music that combine and fit with each other, displaying the China’s original music works, and create the base for the inheritance and innovation of original ethnic music, the incubation and display of ethnic music, and the external dissemination and exchange of national-level ethnic music culture. ”introduced by the organizing committee.

The performance was divided into five chapters, and many domestic and international artists, using different ethnic languages and ethnic tunes, brought a wonderful music feast to the audience, showing a unique ethnic flavor.

During the Ethnic Music Week, the 2nd Daliangshan Barbecue Festival activities will be held simultaneously, lasting from December 20 to February 3, 2025, bringing visitors a feast of food, music and culture. During the event, the most representative local merchants from 17 counties (cities) in Liangshan Prefecture will participate in the Daliangshan Specialty Barbecue Exhibition and the 2nd Daliangshan Barbecue Competition, where tourists will listen to folk songs, taste delicious food and feel the humanistic flavor of Liangshan under the warm winter sun.
