As China's national treasure and envoy, giant pandas are adored worldwide, attracting numbers of fans and becoming one of the must-see things in Sichuan for foreign visitors. Luzhou, a southeast city of Sichuan, also boasts its living relic and national treasure of China—the Cellars of National Treasure 1573. What is unique about these cellars? What are the stories behind them?

Legacy, a popular web variety show that shares Chinese culture by depicting Chinese people's ordinary lives, presenting their wisdom, thoughts, and philosophies across the ages, has been officially launched on its global release date. The first season mainly sheds light on Luzhou Laojiao, one of the classic varieties of Sichuan baijiu. Taking liquor as its protagonist, it wows the audience with a fascinating journey in the renowned Chinese liquor city Luzhou through exploring the secret of the aroma of baijiu inherited for 24 generations.

Today, the third episode of the variety show Legacy, Liquor and Cellar: the National Treasure Alive hits the airwaves! This time, Sichuan International Communication Center (SICC) bilingual anchor Lin Jiawei and foreign traveler Luo Ang will visit the Cellars of National Treasure 1573, awarded as the "Double National Cultural Heritage Treasures." They will try to find out the secret of National Cellar 1573: why on earth does the brewing process in the cellars never stop for over 440 years?

千年老窖万年母糟，酒好全凭窖龄老”这是浓香型白酒“老窖出好酒”的法则。自1573年起持续酿造至今，440余年从未间断使用的泸州老窖1573国宝窖池群是我国现存建造最早、持续使用时间最长、保存最完整的原生古窖池群落，也是与都江堰水利工程并存于世的“活文物”。

It is said that there is a golden rule to make Nongxiangxing Baijiu (strong aroma type): "the longer the cellars and vinasse are used continuously, the better the quality produced." The Cellars of National Treasure 1573 are China's longest-used and best-preserved natural ancient cellars among others with the most extended continuous operation. The old cellars were firstly built in 1573 AD, and the history of brewing liquor there even spans over 440 years. They are proud to be China's living relic and national treasure that coexist with the Dujiangyan irrigation system.

Legacyseries plans to reflect the authentic Sichuan baijiu culture and tackles the five main themes, including the history of baijiu, water sources, apprenticeship and inheritance, liquor cellars, and baijiu-making techniques. Through on-site visits, one-of-a-kind liquor-making activities hosted by experts, and short "apprenticeship" games, our two guests gained insights into the historical heritage and craftsmanship of Sichuan baijiu, which helped them perceive, interpret, and promote Sichuan baijiu culture from both Chinese and Western perspectives.
