Recently, the latest archaeological discoveries in Sanxingdui were revealed. The newly excavated cultural relics represent Shu ancestors’ marvelous imagination, creativity and innovation. Sanxingdui is not only the essence of Shu civilization, but also the treasure of human civilization.

In “Coloured Sanxingdui –Coloring Sanxingdui Relics”, the event held by SICC coordinated with Chuanguan News, the Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics and Archeology Research Institute, and Sanxingdui Museum, a group of international students in Sichuan showed us their Sanxingdui by painting.

“Green represents bronze and jade, yellow represents gold, and red, of course, represents China.” Richard, a French student who has just visited Sanxingdui Museum is amazed by the exquisite cultural relics. He integrated green from bronze and jade and gold from the Golden Mask when colouring the Super Large Bronze Mask, and painted the eye sockets and auricle “Chinese red”. His painting of “Coloured Sanxingdui” is mysterious and lovely.

“When I was painting, I thought of him as a king.” Rahman MD Atiour, an international student from Bangladesh believes that the owner of this mask might be a king at that time. However, he made it a “hip-hop king” in his painting. He added a golden hat, an orange earring for the left ear and a yellow earring for the right ear, and an orange necklace. Therefore, a special king was produced by Rahman MD Atiour.

Hani Meree, an international student from Syria decided to colour the mask green after visiting Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan. He thinks green represents the jade. Among Sanxingdui cultural relics, some exquisite jade ware apart from bronzeware impressed him a lot. In the half bottom of the mask, he adopts the skin-like color. In his opinion, the Sanxingdui mask is more like a half-hidden mask.

Apart from these, there are also a great number of works from international students presenting their coloured Sanxingdui.
