China's Mega Projects: Into Sichuan's Offshore Wind Turbine Power

16% of China’s wind energy equipment is made by Sichuan.

The 13 MW typhoon-resistant offshore wind turbine developed by the Dongfang Electric Corporation (DEC) in China has the largest single-unit capacity and the largest impeller diameter in Asia among all the others rolled off the production line in China.

The wind power generator can output 22.8 kWh of electricity every time it rotates based on the designed wind speed.

A single unit can produce 50 million kWh of clean electric energy annually, enough to cover the yearly consumption of 25,000 three-member households.

The power is equivalent to the reduction of 38,018 tons of carbon dioxide.
