Jialing River Green Ecological Corridor: a historical ecological corridor
 

Jialing River, which was called "Yu River"in the ancient time, derives from Qinling Mountains and runs through Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan Province into Yangtze River.

In the ancient time, Jialing River was the dividing boundary of Sichuan and Chongqing. The Chengdu Plain which lied in the northwestern Sichuan Basin was called "Shu"(today’s Sichuan), and the east of Jialing River and the south of Daba Mountain was called "Ba"(today's Chongqing).

A great number of ecological landscapes along the Jialing River have been built since the construction of Jialing River Green Ecological Corridor in 2015. 24 riverside wetland parks and 12 national and provincial forest park have been established, and the ecological environment along Jialing River has been greatly improved.
