Wolong National Nature Reserve located in the southwestern Wunchuan County, Aba prefecture, Sichuan Province is regarded as the home of giant pandas. There live over 100 giant pandas, accounting for about a tenth of the total in China.

Wolong National Nature Reserve was established in 1963 as one of the earliest wild giant pandas habitats in China. Unlike other wildlife zoos and theme parks where giant pandas are centralized and fed, it adheres to the principle of “protection as the precondition, research as the focus, returning as the goal”and attempts to create an ecological scenic area for giant pandas.
