Longchang Guyu Lake: The Paradise for Birds
 

In every autumn and winter, ten thousands of migratory birds will come to Guyu Lake in Longchang City, Neijiang City, Sichuan Province to spend the winter, including some valuable and rare birds like podiceps cristatus, white spoonbills, accipiter trivirgatus, buteo ventralis, tundra swan, etc.

Two of the three migrating routes in China goes through Sichuan and Longchang Guyu Lake is an important destination. From October to April the next year, large amounts of migratory birds will come to Guyu Lake to spend the winter. There're over 100,000 birds of over 140 kinds maximumly. Therefore, Guyu Lake is regarded as "the paradise for migratory birds".

Guyu Lake is a middle-sized artificial lake built in 1970s with the coverage of 5.4 square kilometers holding lots of islands and peninsulas. Beautiful and elegant, it's also honored "the pearl in southern Sichuan".
