Linghshan Forest Park: A Mountain with Aura

Mianning County has a pleasant climate, abundant rainfall, sufficient sunshine, warm winters and cool summers. Lingshan Forest Park is heavily covered with mountains and clouds, and the forest coverage in the park reaches 70%, with a very high content of negative oxygen ions.

The landscape of Lingshan is mainly mountains and hills, accompanied by long rivers, with different sceneries such as alpine meadows, alpine glacial lake groups, primitive forests, clear waterfalls, and azalea seas.

The most charming thing about Lingshan is its starry lakes, sea of azaleas and rolling hills. There are many famous tourist sites, like Dengxiangying and Jiupanyun ancient post station, 20 alpine lakes surrounding the main peak, as well as rare geysers.

The spectacular azalea sea on Lingshan Mountain blooms in two seasons, the south slope in May-June and the north in August-September. The main peak, Ortheo, is not accessible by horseback because of its precipitous terrain, so hikers need to ask help from guides and locals.

There are two routes to climb the mountain: one is to start from the Lingshan Temple, go through those haizi and Wangtianpo to finally go out from Jiupanying village; the second is the reverse route, to drive from Jiupanying village or Lugu town to Wangtianpo, and go out from the Lingshan Temple.
