When you travel in Daocheng Yading, you may encounter a kind of birds with loud and rough voice. Their backs are featured with whiteround spots, as if they are wearing suits filled with pearls. They are giant laughingthrushes, a kind of birds exclusive to China.

Giant laughingthrush is a kind of middle-sized birds. Like the other members of thrush family, they are good at singing. When they sing, their voice can sweep through the mountains and forests.

Giant laughingthrushes are timid, and usually hide themselves among bushes and thick forests. Besides, they move in groups and live with other laughingthrushes.

What's more, China owns 38 kinds of laughingthrushes, accounting for over 70% worldwide among which 7 kinds are exclusive to China. Therefore, China is honored "the home to laughingthrush".
