The Tibetan snowcocks are in big size and distributed among Himalayas. They look unique, with milk white breast and belly featured with black strips, as if they are in a fashion "strip shirt".

The Tibetan snowcocks have poor flying capability. They mainly walk or run on the alpine meadows or screes. Their grey feathers enable them to integrate with the environment to avoid the enemies. They can run fast and steadily on the bare rocks and macadams.

Besides, the Tibetan snowcocks act in flocks in the daytime. They usually walk up the mountains to seek food. Being timid and alert, they would fly down along the mountains then the danger approaches. In the breeding season, they would court by shouting briefly and powerfully. When two male Tibetan snowcocks meet, they may fight and try to drive each other away.
