The English word "cool" was imported into China in the 1990s and has been integrated into Chinese people's lives in the past 30 years. We can always find "cool guys"in our lives: the snappy dressers, the street singers, the vigorous designers, and all the unique and brave young people around us.

SICC is going to produce a new program: "Yo! Cool Guy". We'll look for the "cool guys" aroundSichuan and record their stories. Here, you'll meet the coolest Chinese guys and hear their stories.

Feng Wei: a post-80s from Luzhou, Sichuan,

founder of "Concerts of Ordinary People"

"Is the stage for big stars only? Is it possible for ordinary people to hold their concerts?" Feng Wei asked himself eight years ago. With this question, he started the project of "Concerts of Ordinary People". He firmly believes that every single ordinary person could be on the big stage in the spotlight.

The spotlight for you, for him, for all of us.

"Every ordinary person can be extraordinary," Feng Wei said, "there’re so many examples around us, those who saved other people’s lives, those who helped others, right? Many ordinary people are so powerful and charming." Feng Wei wanted to set up a stage for those people to show themselves.

Over15,000 singers have signed up, over 100 concerts have been held, and nearly 80 singers have performed in their individual concerts. In the eight years, "Concerts of Ordinary People"has provided opportunities for music lovers of different profession, background and age, including restaurant owners, college lecturers, expectant mothers, subway maintenance men, IT sellers, etc. They get up on the stage and express themselves with music in the spotlight.

The stage of us, of them, of the world.

"The project was started in Chengdu as it greatly fit the city's style. But it's not exclusive for Chengdu, it belongs to the world," Feng Wei said, "this special form of concert makes the performers more confident and relaxed. There're no national boundaries in it."Years ago, on the Pont Neuf of Seine River in Paris, the local people showed great interest and expressed his wish to go to the "Concerts of Ordinary People" in his country after learning about Feng Wei’s ideas.

Through "Concerts of Ordinary People", people reconcile with their depression and regrets, embrace their dreams and expectations. It spreads their voices to every corner of the city and affects each citizen. It makes lives more beautiful.

"However, I haven't performed yet on the stage," It's a pity for Feng Wei, "too many people want the stage more than me,maybe the next time. The next performance could be Feng Wei's show."
