Liu Yong's transatlantic journey starts!

1月30日，来自四川的中国探险家刘勇与法国探险家发起的单船完全无动力划船、且无后援的方式横渡大西洋5500公里的探险活动正式启航!

The 5500-km transatlantic journey without power or backuplaunched by the Chinese adventurer Liu Yong and his French partners started on Jan. 30.

刘勇于2023年1月11日从成都出发，于1月21日抵达此次探险活动的始发点西班牙加那利群岛的罗椰岛，今日正式开始了本次的探险之旅。刘勇教授来自四川旅游学院山地旅游研究院，四川大学历史学博士，是“美国国家地理频道”探险纪录片主持人，全能极限探险者，曾入选“美国国家地理”中国10大探险家(2016)。探索世界近20年，他的足迹遍布喜玛拉雅山脉、喀喇昆仑山脉、邛崃山脉、横断山脉、阿尔卑斯山脉、洛基山脉、南北极等世界多地。

Liu started off on Jan. 11 in Chengdu and arrived at EI Hierroin Spain which is thestarting point of this journey.Prof. Liu is now working in Sichuan Academy for the Study of Mountain Tourism at Sichuan Tourism College. He got the PhD of history in Sichuan University and has been the host in National Geographic Channel. For over the past 20 years, he has taken the adventures in the Himalayas, Karakoram, Qionglai mountain range, etc.

巴厘岛的首次翼装飞行

2018年10月，刘勇受印尼国家文化旅游部的邀请，赴巴厘岛参加印尼国家旅游发展大会，与来自世界七个国家的35名优秀跳伞运动员一起在千米高空表演。他和另外三名分别来自意大利和英国的翼装高手一同进行翼装飞行表演，会后受到印尼文化旅游部部长的亲切接见。这也是第一次有人在巴厘岛完成翼装飞行。

In October, 2018, Liu was invited by the Indonesian Ministry of Culture and Tourism to perform the wing outfit flightin Bali island together with the athletes from the world, and was received by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Indonesia. It was the first wing outfit flight performance in Bali island.

神奇大陆南极探险之旅

2014年12月底至2015年1月30日，刘勇和其探险队成员们在40多天完成超过3000公里的帆船航海探险征程，深入南极遥远而不为人知的区域，完成了登山、滑雪、皮划艇、游泳、攀冰等极限探险挑战。他们共攀登了9座山峰，开创出了 7条新的路线登顶，并挑战了2座未登山峰，这是南极探险史上首次有中国人完成未登峰的首登。

In 40 days from the late December in 2014 to January 30 in 2015, Liu, together with his team members completed the over-3000-km journey in the remote unexplored area in the Antarctic Pole. They climbed nine peaks, including two unexplored ones, and opened seven new routes to the peak. It was the first time that Chinese people initiated the routes to the unexplored peaks in the Antarctic Pole.

喜马拉雅南坡未登峰留下中国人足印

尼泊尔时间2013年10月30日，刘勇老师和他的探险伙伴成功登顶中国西藏和尼泊尔的界山。这座海拔6400米的山峰仅南壁和北壁两面可以攀登，冰川混合着岩壁，极为困难。他也成为首位在喜马拉雅山脉南坡完成未登峰的中国人。

On October 30, 2013, Nepalese time, Liu and his partners reached the summit of the mountain between Tibet, China and Nepal. The 6400-meter peak is covered with ice and rock, and only the southern and northern slopes are accessible. He became the first Chinese who climbed up the unexplored peak in the southern slopes of the Himalayas.

在本次探险活动中，他将和法国同伴一起在西班牙加那利群岛的La Restinga码头下水，采用单船完全无后援无动力的方式划船约5500公里横渡大西洋，计划到达南美洲，全程耗时约计45-55天。这将是对每位船员心理和身体状况的一次巨大挑战。

This time, Prof. Liu, together with his French partners will embark the 5500-km transatlantic journey without power or backup in La Restingain Spain, and expects to reach South America in 45 to 55 days. It will be a great challenge to all the team members.
