在同事和群众的帮助下，龚治铭借助绳索降到河面，纵身跃入河中，迅速游到该女子身边。靠近女子时，龚治铭耐心劝慰，随后拉着她游向岸边。快至岸边时，一名热心群众也下河帮忙，两人一起将女子护送上岸。由于救援及时，该女子已脱离生命危险。
