As a traditional well-known specialty, Qiaojiao Beef Pot first comes from Suji Town, an ancient town with thousands of years’ history in Leshan City.

Beef was delicate and highly nutritional, and beef offal would also become a delicacy after clever processing. Some locals began boiling and selling beef and beef offal on the riverside, and that was how Suji Beef Pot came into being.

Since there were no extra stools at the busy stall, diners had to stand by the table with one foot placing on the beam under the table (meaning “Qiaojiao” in Chinese), and thus, Qiaojiao Beef Pot got its name.

Stewed with dozens of Chinese herbs, the carefully cooked pot piled with beef and various kinds of beef offal is full of strong aroma. You can literally pig out on several bowls of steamed rice with the tasty soup only!

Don’t worry if you are a spicy-lover! A dipping sauce of chili powder with a handful of chopped scallions and coriander further stimulates the flavor of the pot. Look at the beef slice coated in a thin layer of chili powder. How mouth-watering it is!
