Meet Fireflies in Qingshen, Sichuan in Spring!
 

The romance of spring is not only flowers but also fireflies in Qingshen County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province. In the general impression, fireflies are exclusively regulars in summer. However, wild fireflies can be seen in spring in Qingshen, the earliest place in China tosee them in a year.

To provide tourists with a higher-quality firefly-watchingexperience, on March 19, the opening ceremony of the Qingshen County Firefly Watching Season officially kicked off. The First Firefly Carnival in Qingshen will be launched.

In the next month, Qingshen will be immersed in the atmosphere of the First Firefly Carnival, which will successively launch a series of project activities such as a tent festival, food festival, fun run, folklore show, carnival, and anintangible heritage experience tour with the characteristics of Qingshen.

In recent years, Qingshen County has promoted the protection and sustainable utilization of firefly resources. It has establishedthe Firefly Research and Protection Center in Southwest China and has builtthe first Zhuli Firefly Art Museum in China that integrates scientific research, natural science popularization, technological interaction, and firefly appreciation in four seasons. There are also a variety of activities such as the firefly night market, campfire parties, opera performances, guitar singing, the night tour of Hanfu and adventure in an ancient town. These events make tourists have close contact with fireflies for 10 months every year and feel the romantic beauty of the bamboo forest and fireflies.
