Wine Here We Here: The 18th China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo to kick off from April 13-16 in Luzhou

    The press conference of the 18th China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo was held in Chengdu, Sichuan province, on March 30, 2023. Approved by China's Ministry of Commerce, the 18th China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo will be held at Luzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center from April 13 to 16.

    Located in the core of the "Golden Triangle" of Chinese baijiu, Luzhou City is the only origin in China of both fine nongxiangxing baijiu(strong flavour baijiu) and jiangxiangxing baijiu(mild flavour baijiu), and one of the "world's top ten spirits areas." It has earned the reputation of the "world-class liquor industry cluster," with two well-known brands, Luzhou Laojiao and Langjiu, sold to many countries worldwide. The China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo has been successfully held for 17 consecutive years. Since 2014, it has been permanently settled in Luzhou City, SW China's Sichuan Province, serving as an important platform for spurring exchanges between domestic and foreign alcoholic industries and enterprises and promoting cooperation.

    Focusing on the goal of "building the most professional exhibition of the alcoholic drinks industry," the 18th China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo will strengthen the three functions of "exhibition, industry guidance, and investment promotion", build five pavilions, an 80,000-square-meter matrix, and invite guests from more than 40 countries (regions), more than 800 enterprises to participate in the exhibition. The showcased products will include six kinds of alcoholic drinks, such as Chinese baijiu, wine, beer, Huangjiu (Chinese rice wine), fruit wine and imported wine, covering the whole industry chain of alcoholic drinks packaging materials, intelligent brewing, systematic research and development, intelligent management, etc. Furthermore, the 18th China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo will adhere to "leading the production industry and service industry," planning 42 special activities and inviting more than 1,500 influential people of the alcoholic drinks industry to talk about the plans, and the number of activities. The number of guests will hit a new high for this Expo.

    The 18th China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo will keep the theme "Wine Here We Here." In addition to setting up the Chongqing Pavilion, Xinjiang Pavilion, Luzhou Pavilion, Shaoxing Pavilion, Lishui Pavilion and other domestic alcoholic products pavilions, it also invited Greece to serve as the guest of honor of the 18th China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo, setting up the guest of honor Greek Pavilion of 390 square meters, and focusing on showcasing Greek alcoholic drinks, history and culture, cultural customs. The Greek Pavilion will formally introduce Greek wine, tourism, culture and other characteristic resources.

    At the same time, this Expo will also hold high-end activities such as the International Wine Conference and Wine Tasting Masterclass Conference, inviting consuls and diplomatic staff from the six guest countries of honor and other friendly countries' consulates in Chengdu and Chongqing to attend the Expo. More than 200 famous foreign alcoholic drinks enterprises with more than 1,000 products will be on display, which continuously deepens the cultural exchanges and economic and trade exchanges for all-round connectivity with countries of the Belt and Road Initiative and RCEP member states, better integrates into the new development paradigm, and comprehensively enhances the level of opening up of Luzhou, China's "city of Chinese liquor." This year marks the 10th anniversary of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative. The Center of Chinese and Greek Ancient Civilizations was also established in Athens in February this year. As the first European Union member state to join the Belt and Road Initiative in 2018, Greece hopes to further strengthen the economic, trade and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Greece through the 18th China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo. Both sides will promote the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of China-Greece relations.
